He didn't have any money, but he had a tenacious work ethic, a keen mind, and a deep desire to provide for the love of his life Marilyn. His hard work was noticed by the owners of Stewart Brothers and Jim quickly rose through the ranks. While still in his early 20's, he became the owner of the business. He built the company into both a successful retail store, as well as a leading distributor of commercial door hardware. Under his guidance, a second location was added in Bartlett, TN, which is operated by all four of his children. Jim had a knack for business, real estate, and investing. He, also, had a genuine faith in God. He spent decades as a church leader, and was a founding member of both the Twin Oaks and the Oliver Creek Church of Christ. He was deeply wise, pragmatic, humble, and kind. He was living proof of the American dream. He leaves behind a legacy of entrepreneurship and profound love of family.
