James E. Franks, 85, went to be with the Lord on February 3, 2018.  He was born April 4, 1932.  He was born to Benjamin and Lessie Franks.   He was married to Clynese Massey Franks for 56 years, before her passing in 2015.  He is also preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and 1 sister.

He leaves three children - Karen (Donnie) Dykes,  David (Allison) Franks, and Mark (Pam) Franks.  Six granddaughters – Malissa, Amber, Lauren, Kayla, Kacie and Geneva.  Four Great Grandchildren -  Austin, Landon, Chloe, Ava and one on the way.  Plus many nephews, nieces and friends.

He was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Arlington, where he served as a deacon in previous years.  He was a former member at Ardmore Baptist and Speedway Terrace.

James was a Master Barber for 62 years.  He was a previous owner/ operator of Mid City Barber Shop in Memphis.

Services will be conducted at Forest Hill East with Visitation on Wed Feb 7 ^th from 6 to 8 PM.  The funeral service will be Thursday Feb 8 ^th at 2 pm   In lieu of Flowers, please send Memorial to Crossroads Baptist Church 6601 Austin Peay Hwy  Arlington TN 38002
