James Kenneth "Pop" Hughes, 85, of Hernando , Mississippi, formerly of Coffeeville, Mississippi, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018 after a long illness.  He was born on August 5, 1932 to George and Mary Hughes, who have preceded him in death as well as his wife of 49 years, Edoel Hughes, sons: James Keith Hughes and Michael Scott Hughes and one brother: George Hughes.  James was a Navy veteran, graduated from Coleman's University and was a retired truck driver.  He is survived by daughter, Linda Addleman, two sisters: Dot Stewart and Mary Lou Liming.
Visitation will be from 12-2 PM on Thursday, May 24, 2018 until service time at 2:00 PM at Forest Hill Funeral Home-East with interment to follow at Forest Hill -East.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Desoto County Animal Shelter.
