James Jackson Humphries passed away on March 1, 2019 at the age of 83. He is preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Pauline Humphries, his brothers Don, Howard and Teddy.
He is survived by his wife Wanda Pittman- Humphries, His sister Lorreta Humphries Pitts, His daughters Mandi Ferrell, Needa Jenks, Kelli Humphries and Dakota Humphries and sons James (Jacky) Humphries and Edward Humphries . He had 12 grandkids and 22 great grandkids.
James was born and raised in Dyess, Arkansas Where he was surrounded by his parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister .
In 1959 He married his one love, Wanda, who he was married to for 59 years. He loved Elvis and western movies. He was an amazing Dad to his six children. He loved his country and he was very patriotic. He did four years in the Air Force with honorable discharge and was a retired truck driver.
He devoted his life to making his family his priority. He loved the outdoors, especially spending time at the lake swimming and working in his garden. Whenever there was a baby around there was a smile on his face. He loved the Lord and had a strong faith. He loved rooting for the Memphis Tigers and Memphis Grizzlies. Although he has passed on from this life his family will rejoice knowing that one day they will be reunited with him again.
The family will recieve guest for a Visitation Service on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 1pm until Funeral Service at 2pm with burial to follow, all at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park - East 2440 Whitten Rd.
