James Curtis "Jack" Matheny, Jr. 82, formerly of Memphis, TN. went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at his home in Bloomfield, IA.  Mr. Matheny was born in Madison, TN to the late James Curtis, Sr. and Martha Louise Matheny. He grew up in Memphis and was a graduate of Humes High School. After graduation he entered the U.S. Army serving in the 24 Infantry. After the service he attended Mississippi State. During his working career he worked for International Harvester in Memphis retiring after 36 years.  He also retired from the Bloomfield Foundry in IA.

Jack leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Bonnie R. Matheny; four children, Kimberly Marking of Memphis, Kelly Carmichael (James) of Memphis, Konya Shreve (Rob) of Counce, TN and Kenneth Matheny of Floris, IA; one sister, Robbie Jones of Walls, MS; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon Thursday, December 17 at Agape Baptist Church, 5156 Raleigh Lagrange Rd., Memphis, TN 38134. There will be a graveside service held at 2 PM in Forest Hill Cemetery, East 2440 Whitten Rd. Memphis, TN.

The family request, in lieu of flowers that memorials are sent to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
