James Ray Knight passed away peacefully at his home along the White River in Mountain View, Arkansas on April 12, 2019.  James "Jimmy" Knight was born in Pontotoc County, Mississippi on March 12, 1939, to John B. and Euree Knight.  Jimmy is best known for his love of family, and dedication to his work.  After nearly 50 years in the grocery store, Jimmy retired and moved to the Ozark Mountains.  Jimmy spent his retired days fishing along the White River, and spending time with family.  Prior to retirement, Jimmy enjoyed golfing with his buddies, camping with his family, and any other activity in the great outdoors.  Jimmy was a member of the Air Force Reserves from 1957-1962, after graduating from Treadwell High School in 1957.  Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Dee.  He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Peggy; his children, Jimmy, Steven, Scott, Kelley Martin and Ronnie Irvin; his sisters, Dorothy Rotenberry and Mary Sebring; his fourteen grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren.  Family members will receive visitors on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., and will celebrate his life on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., all at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park - East, 2440 Whitten Road.
