James "Jim" Lemmon
August 12, 1941 — August 15, 2026
James "Jim" Lemmon, 85, entered the arms of his Heavenly Father on August 15, 2026. Jim was born on August 12, 1941, in Dallas, Texas, the son of the late Roy and Golda Lemmon.
Jim attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri and went on to serve his country faithfully for six years in the United States Army Reserve. He later built a long career with Sears, retiring from the company's service department. For many years, Jim generously shared his musical gifts as a music director in several churches, and he was a devoted member of Gateway Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee. Jim was a true prayer warrior, and his deep love for his Saviour remains a great comfort to his family, who finds peace in knowing they will one day be reunited with him.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Sandy Lemmon; his son, Jimmy Lemmon (Melody); his daughter-in-law, Kim Lemmon; his grandchildren, Zachary (Jenni), Jordan, Bailey, and Lily; and his great-granddaughter, Vanessa. He is also survived by his sister, Gayle (John); his brother, Roy (Darlene); and his sister, Tina.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Matthew Lemmon (Kim) and David Lemmon; his parents, Roy and Golda Lemmon; and his sister, Janis.
Jim's smile, his laughter, and his deep love for his wife will forever remain in the hearts of his family.
