James C. Martin, Sr., 85, was born September 6, 1929 and died October 23, 2014. Mr. Martin grew up in Tupelo, MS where he met his wife of 60 years, Ida Mae Martin. He was a veteran of the Army, having served in the Korean War. Mr. and Mrs. Martin moved to Memphis, TN, where he worked as a Memphis City Fireman for 25 years. The couple raised 4 children. Upon retiring, they then lived in Cherokee Village, AR. Mr. Martin''s parents were Fleeta M. Martin and John Oscar Martin. He is survived by his wife, Ida Mae Martin; his children, James C. Martin, Jr., and wife, Cindy, of Atoka, TN; Cecil O Martin of Bartlett, TN; Mona LuAnn Martin of Memphis, TN; Lori M. Osborn and husband, Tim, of Bartlett, TN; four granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 28 at Forest Hill Midtown with family receiving friends an hour prior. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Midtown Cemetery. 901-775-0310
