Hernando - James E. Minton, 86, of Hernando, MS went to meet his Lord on July 26, 2014 at the Memphis Jewish Home. He was a graduate of Whitehaven High School. James was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Eva Minton and a grandson, Jeff Jones. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Frances Minton; three daughters, Janet Towle (Jim); Linda Russell (Paul); and Joyce Jones (Jerry); two grandsons, Jamie Russell and Justin Moore; three great-granddaughters; and an aunt, Mary Shainberg. He was a retired Engineer on the ICRR, a member of Parkway Baptist Church, a Master Mason, and served in the USN in WW ll. The service will be held at Forest Hill South on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with visitation from 12-2 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Memphis Jewish Home or to Parkway Baptist Church in Hernando.
