IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Phillip
Horton
December 6, 1948 – October 25, 2024
Like so many in his generation, the birth of James ("Jimmy") Phillip Horton on December 16, 1948 to Aurelia Horton and Charles Horton likely represented a return to normalcy after years of fighting during WWII. Just a few years earlier, Charles had been fished out of shark-filled waters in the Pacific Ocean after his ship was sunk during the Battle of Leyte Gulf. Growing up during the 50s and 60s, Jimmy came to love hunting and cars. He was a man of few words who liked to be alone. Jimmy never married but he was always there when any family member needed help. He loved his niece (Anastasia) and nephew (Eric) and lavished them with Christmas gifts. Even as the effects of his dementia grew, Jimmy was grateful for the support and assistance we provided. We wish that Jimmy could have responded better to the medical care he received in the last months of his life but we know he is at peace now. We miss him!
