James W. Riels, 57, of Southaven, MS passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at his home after a short illness. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday at Forest Hill Funeral Home East, with interment to follow in Forest Hill Cemetery East. He was born on May 7, 1955 in El Paso, TX, and was a locomotive engineer for Canadian National Railroad for 34 years. James was preceded in death by his parents, James Darby and Shirley Rebstock Riels, and a brother, Daniel W. Riels. He leaves his wife of eleven years, Marta; two sons, James Christopher Riels, of Knoxville, TN, and James Scotty Riels, of Memphis; one daughter, Candice Riels Goin, of Memphis; one stepson, Matthew H. Grimm, of Lakeland, TN; one stepdaughter, Valerie Croom, of Greenfield, TN; and eight and one half grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society.
