Mr. James Edward Smith, age 73 passed away on November 10, 2020. Mr. Smith served his country as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War and later as a Shelby County Deputy Sheriff. After retirement from the Sheriff's Department he owned and operated Bartlett Lawn Service. Mr. Smith was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Bartlett, TN.

James was preceded in death by his parents and brothers.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Astrid Wilson Smith; Son, James Edward Smith, Jr.; Sister, Sandra Smith Goldsby; Grandson, Carsten James Smith.

The family will gather to receive friends Thursday November 12, 2020 from 5 – 7 PM at Forest Hill East Funeral Home and again at 9 AM Friday November 13, 2020, with a graveside service following at 10 AM. Serving as pallbearers will be James Edward Smith, Jr., Carsten James Smith, Steve Woodward, Jeremy Goldsby, Alan Stowers, and David Smith.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children Hospital or Faith Baptist Church, in memory Mr. Smith.
