James Stanley Wood, 89, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Methodist Hospice Residence. Mr. Wood was devoted to the Lord and his family. He came from a long line of musical family members which gave him his great love for music. James served in the U.S. Army and was a longtime member of Charjean Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents and ten brothers and sisters. He leaves his wife, Opal Faye Wood, two daughters: Barbara Lowry (Jack) and Debra Martin (Larry) both of GermantownÍ four stepchildren: Janice Tomblin, Diane Cooper, Lynn Joslin, and Wayne Lamar (Rose)Í 4 grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 7 step great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday, October 24 at Forest Hill South with service immediately following at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Forest Hill South Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials are made to: One By One Ministries, P.O. Box 1686, Cordova, TN 38088 or to Gideons International.
