James Virgil Stewart, 82, of Arlington, TN passed away on August 10, 2017 following a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer''s disease. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Hensley Stewart, of Arlington, TN; three daughters, Anita Miles (Robby) of Arlington, TN; Diane Humphrey (Don) of Sardis, TN; Tina Johns (Billy) of Arlington, TN; 7 grandchildren: Kenny Shutt (Ashley), Kristine Raley Bringle (Ken), John Raley, Bob Miles, Travis Miles, Brian Johns (Lauren), Lindsey Shutt (Steven); four great grandchildren: Kelsey Shutt, Tucker Shutt, Landon Bringle and Tyler Bringle. He retired from Roadway Express and was a member of Ellendale United Methodist Church. The family suggest memorial contributions be sent to Ellendale United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 85, Ellendale, TN 38025 or the Alzheimer''s Association, 4825 Trousdale Drive, Suite 220, Nashville, TN 37220. The family wishes to thank all of those that cared for him during his illness at the Signature Health Care, Dovecrest and the staff of Cross Roads Hospice.
