James "Rocky" Stone 37, Rocky was born and raised in Memphis, but did spend a few years working in Cody, WY and had the time of his life. He was preceded in death by his brother Johnathan Stone, his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Ralph I. Smith and Mr. and Mrs. F. Collins Brown, Jr. He leaves behind his parents Rick & Claire Brown, his brother Matthew Brown all of Memphis, his sister Tina Carter of Brighton, TN, his aunt Gayla (Steve) Feldman of Huntsville, AL, his uncle Owen (Gail) Brown of Town Creek, AL, his uncle Bob (Miriam) Smith of Memphis, TN, his aunt Betsy Smith of Memphis, TN and his uncle Julian Ashford of Hartselle, AL. He also leaves several cousins. Besides his family, Rocky also leaves many friends especially his closest friends that became his extended family from Brookhaven and Huey''s. There were three very special friends, Shannon Harwood Lunn and Amber Butterick that he''s known since childhood, and his best friend and soul mate Mary Helen Bobo. Rocky was an avid University of Memphis fan, along with North Carolina basketball and he loved Cub''s baseball. Rocky was an animal and dog lover and we are asking that any memorial donations be made to the Tunica Humane Society, P.O. Box 236, Tunica, MS 38676 or Horse Creek Wildlife Sanctuary and Animal Refuge, 13780 Hwy. 69, Savannah, TN 38372. There will be a memorial celebration at Forest Hill Funeral Home East on Whitten Rd., Wednesday, September 24, 2014 from 12-2 p.m., with burial to follow.
