James O. Thomas, 89, of Memphis, TN, died March 3, 2014. He was retired after operating his own painting company and proudly served in the US Navy on the USS Idaho during WWII. Mr. Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Margaret Thomas; three daughters, Linda (Wayland) Stepp, Donna Springfield, Sandra Jo (Jack) Young; granddaughter, April (Brian) Bennard and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 12 p.m., Thursday, March 6 until service begins at 2 p.m. at Forest Hill East Funeral Home. The family request any memorials be sent to the Disabled American Veterans.
