James Willard Vaughn, age 96, of Milan, Tennessee, died of a short illness on March 3, 2025. Jim, as he was known by many, was born in Dresden, Tennessee, on September 18, 1928. He was a 1946 graduate of Palmersville High School in Weakley County, Tennessee. Jim was married to Tommie Lou Morgan Vaughn for over 77 years. He spent most of his professional career working as a traffic manager for Lykes Brothers Steamship Company in the Cotton Exchange Building in downtown Memphis. Jim is survived by two daughters Linda Palmer (Russell) of Bartlett and Marilyn Goodman (Brent) of Milan; brother- in -law Charles Wright of Sharon; four grandchildren Jeff Palmer of Chattanooga; James Palmer of Bartlett; Meredith McKeel of Milan and Melanie Morales (Derek) of Medina; and three great grandchildren Landon Morales, Charlotte Morales, and Parker McKeel. In addition to his wife Tommie, Jim was preceded in death by his parents Clarence Lee Vaughn and Susan Alice Moubray Vaughn, and
his sister-in-law Betty Morgan Wright, all of Weakley County, Tennessee. Pastor Marty Arnold will be officiating. The family requests that memorials be sent to the Red Bird Mission, Inc., 70 Queensdale Center, Beverly, Kentucky, where Jim enjoyed volunteering.
