James "Roger" Wade, 89, of Memphis, Tennessee passed peacefully at home on July 13, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

Roger grew up and attended school in Sheffield, Al. He graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary and served as an Associate Reformed Presbyterian minister for many years. Later in life, he served as the Chaplain for Delta Medical Center where he led Bible studies and ministered to those in their time of need.

Roger met the love of his life, Ann Bowen, in college and they married and began a life of devotion to each other. They enjoyed spending time hiking in the Smoky Mountains where Roger found joy in photography with Ann as his model.

Roger is preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Wade Eckert.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 68 years, Ann, children Anna (Steve) and Melissa along with brother-in-law, Bob. He was a wonderful "Pop" to grandchildren Michael (Brittany), Kelly (Brandon) and James (Sara) as well as great grandchildren Oliver, Sunnie and Lucas. He will also be missed by his many friends and church family.

Pallbearers are Michael Frazier, James Cockroft, Brandon Albert, and Steve Tate.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Forest Hill Funeral Home-East on Whitten Rd. from 9-10a.m. with the funeral to follow at 10a.m.
