Janella Stockard Gaston passed peacefully from this life with her children by her side on Sunday, November 23, 2014. She was born October 30, 1929 in Gibson Co., Tennessee to Benjamin and Ava Vern Stockard. She married Floyd H. Gaston on December 22, 1945 and spent 45 happy years together prior to his passing. She was a homemaker and an active member of the Christ of Christ where she especially enjoyed singing and Sunday School. Mrs. Gaston was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Gaston; sister, Annie Lou Dill (nee Stockard); brothers, Howard Stockard and Benjamin Freed Stockard; and twin sister, Novella Thompson (nee Stockard). She is survived by her children, Donna J. Cottingham (nee Gaston) and Philip R. Gaston; grandchildren, Todd Cottingham, Chad Cottingham, Melissa Mancini, Kristen Davis, and Adam Gaston; and by seven great-grandchildren.

The family requests any memorials be sent to Vanderbilt Children''s Hospital.

Visitation will be 1-2 p.m., Saturday, November 29 at Forest Hills
East Funeral Home with Services and interment to follow at 2 p.m.
