On May 7, 2024, our beloved mother, Ruth Janice Chandler, went home to be with the Lord at age 92.  She was a loving wife to the late Raymond Glenn Chandler for 67 years and a wonderful mother to her three children.  She especially loved being Granny to her granddaughter, Sarah.  Late in life, she discovered the joy of having a fluffy companion and spent many hours with her little dog Hobie.

Janice was a faithful Christian who lived her faith through her kindness and care for others.  She taught Sunday School at St. Stephens Methodist and later at Leawood Baptist, where she also served in the Homebound and Clothes Closet Ministries.  In the last few years, during her struggle with dementia, she remained a sweet testimony to her faith and her love of Jesus Christ.

She leaves behind her three children, Debra Justice (Patrick), Wanda Chandler, Robert Chandler and her "favorite" granddaughter, Sarah Bodry (John Beechy).  Special thanks go to her neighbor, Steve Waterbury, for watching over her and to her caregivers at Harbor Chase-Cordova.
