Mr. JC "Man" Jones
Mr. JC "Man" Jones, son of the late JB Jones and Estella Crawley Jones, was born June 24, 1941, in Eads, Tennessee. After a short illness, he departed this life peacefully on January 20, 2019, at St. Frances Hospital.
At an early age, Mr. Jones was baptized at Morning View Baptist, where he attended faithfully. He moved to Rock Island, Illinois and worked at Swords Veneer Lumber Company for over 20 years. He later moved back to Eads, Tennessee and worked at Schaefer Sash & Door until he retired. He regularly attended Mount Olive Baptist Church upon his return to Eads.
JC cherished his family and really enjoyed family gatherings. He enjoyed working his land and listening to the melodic sounds of WLOK-AM 1340 – A Family Tradition. He was always ready to discuss current events from the news. He made a favorable impression on most with his charming smile. God blessed him with a beautiful spirit and a good sense of humor.
JC was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Howard and five siblings, Gladys Jones, Joy Morrow, Kathleen Smith; Charles Peter Jones and Murry Jones. He leaves to cherish his memory; Sara Jones; two sons, James (Velicia) Howard and Daryl Jones; five siblings, Ruth Moon, Barbara (Willie) Holmes, Tommie Kirkendoll, Nolen Jones, and Classie Ella Johnson; three aunts, Bertha Mae Crawley, Clara Webb and Jane Cleo Jones; sister-in-law, Ernestine Jones. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a close friend/neighbor, Frank.
The family will recieve friends at a Visitation Service to be held on Monday, January 28, 2019 from 1pm until Funeral Service at 2 pm with burial to follow, all at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park - East 2440 Whitten Road Memphis, Tennessee 38133.
Acknowledgements
Perhaps you sent a lovely card or sat quietly in a chair.
Perhaps you sent a funeral spray, if so, we saw it there.
Perhaps you spoke the kindest words that any friend could say.
Perhaps you were not there at all, just thought of us that day.
Whatever you did to console our hearts,
We thank you so much, whatever the part.
