Jean Rowland, 79, of Bartlett, TN and formerly of Fayette County went home to be with Jesus on April 7, 2014. She was born February 21, 1935 to Joseph and Ida Hibbard in Lombardy, MS. She retired from the Fayette County School System and Methodist Hospital after many years of service. She was a faithful member of Community Bible Church where she served as the leader of the Prime Timers and the Clothes Closet Ministries. She will be remembered as a godly wife, Mother and Grandmother and a true friend to many. She was a very creative, giving and caring person who loved her family and others with the love of the Lord. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years A.T. Rowland, her son, Ray Rowland, a granddaughter, Alisha Wasmund, and siblings Lynn Lynchard, Lorraine Fulford and Joe Hibbard. She is survived by her children: Arch Rowland (Peggy), Rev. Jim Rowland (Dodi), Roger Rowland, and Sheree Wasmund (Butch); siblings: Ed Hibbard, Bob Hibbard (Susan), Joann Cavaness (Johnny) and Thomasine Hibbard; grandchildren: Al, Olivia, Andy, Kacey, Jeanna, Amanda, Alex, Sabrina, Josh, Deanna, and Daniel and nine great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 9-11 a.m. and the Homegoing Celebration will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday April 12, 2014 at Forest Hill Funeral Home, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis.
