Jerry Lee Hensley was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He left the world on April 28, 2023 at the age of 75, surrounded by his loving family in Memphis, Tennessee.
Jerry was born in Patterson, Arkansas, on June 3, 1947 to Luke and Jewell Hensley. A hard-working and self-made man, he went on to hold a variety of jobs until ultimately opening his own highly successful business: Hensley's Cleaning, Grading, and Sodding.
Jerry was an active 32nd Degree Mason and Wahabi Shriner. He served as the 2014 Potentate of the Wahabi Shrine Club and several terms as Desoto Shrine Club President. With a heart for children and giving back to the community, Jerry transported children and their families to Shriners Children's Hospitals across the country.
Jerry is survived by his wife Pat Hensley, daughters Kimberly Whitehouse (Thomas) and Nancy Lee (Chuck), granddaughters Megan Murphy, Kristi Levins (Tyler), Hannah Whitehouse (Joshua Muzzi), and Bayley Thomas (Scottie), great-grandchildren Justice "JJ" Murphy, Gray Levins, Julia Lynn Levins, Martha Levins, and Scarlett Thomas, sisters Peggy Doyle, Donna Todd, and Linda Tucker, and several nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his sons Bradley Hendon and Jerry Lynn Hensley, father Luther Alvin Hensley, and mother Jewell Elizabeth Hensley.
Jerry touched many lives and will be deeply missed by his friends and family. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Shriners Children's Hospital on his behalf.
