Jerry Franklin Houston, 73, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at his home in Ashland, MS. Mr. Houston grew up in Memphis and was a graduate of Messick High School. He was a retired fireman from the City of Memphis Fire Department. He was a member of Medlock Methodist Church and was a Mason. His parents, Aubrey Lee and Sylverine Houston, and brother-in-law, Joe Holt, preceded him in death. Jerry leaves his wife Brenda K. Houston; three sons: Jay Houston (Seresa) of Cornith, MS, David Houston (Gina) of Ashland, MS and Tony Houston (Peppa) of Ashland; one step-son, Jubal Kennon of Ashland, MS; one Sister, Sylvia Holt of Nesbit, MS; grandchildren, Chasity Miller (Eric) of Ashland, Josh Houston of Goldsboro, NC, Leah Houston of Hattesburg, MS and Benjamin Houston of Corintlh, MS; 5 great-grandchildren and many other beloved family and friends. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 19 at Medlock Methodist Church in Ashland and service will be at 11 a.m. Monday also at the church. Burial will be in Medlock Cemetery.
