Obituary

Jethro Davidson (Tex) Tisdale , 92, of Memphis, passed away on October 16, 2018. He was born in Cotton Gin, Texas, March 16, 1926, one of seven children born to the late William Henry and Willie Teer Tisdale. He was married 65 years to the late Dorothy Jean (Wright) Tisdale, and they attended Ridgeway Baptist Church. They had four children, Linda Tisdale Kuczwanski, Bradley Shannon, Rebecca Tisdale Cowan, and Gregory Eugene (deceased). He leaves his brother, Oscar Tisdale, and two sisters, Laverne Senter and Rita McGirk, all of Texas; three children; three grandchildren, Clay and Brandon Barham and Kimberly Tisdale; and two great-grandchildren, Malia Barham and Zoe Barham. He was preceded in death by his son Gregory, and two grandchildren, Ashley and Dennis Barham.

Mr. Tisdale was retired after 37 years with the FBI. He was honored as a 33 rd Degree Mason, the Past Master of Oakville Masonic Lodge #599, and also served as Past Grand Master of the Tennessee Masonic Grand Lodge, Past Grand Patron of the Tennessee Order of the Eastern Star, and held the Grand Cross of Color from the Tennessee Order of Rainbow for Girls. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, York Rite and Al Chymia Shrine Temple, and held numerous other fraternal memberships and honors of distinction.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 21, at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Hill East Funeral Home, with Masonic services and burial to follow. Visitation will be at the same location on Saturday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
