Jewel Mae Broaddus, age 95, surrounded by her loving family, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Saint Francis- Bartlett Hospital in Bartlett, TN.  Born February 16, 1924 in Paragould, AR, Jewel was born one of five siblings, and was raised on the family cotton farm until moving to Memphis, TN in search for employment.  After being employed by Firestone Tire Company, she met her husband, Belfied "Bill" Broaddus, to whom she would be married for 57 years. Jewel would leave her job at Firestone to become a kindergarten teacher, then move on to spend the majority of her time on this earth as a caretaker and homemaker.  Left to remember her loving and caring touch, Jewel was survived by her two daughters, Debra Pitts (Max) and Kathryn Hicks; four grandchildren:  Katie Stewart (Jeff), Martin "Bear" Brewi (Heather), Justin Hicks, and Calem Hicks (Brandi); and eight great- grandchildren.  Jewel was preceded by her parents, four siblings, and her husband, Bill. Jewel was a longtime member of East Frasier Church of Christ in Frasier, TN, and remained an active, faithful member of the church community until her last breath.
