Jewel Janes Thomas, 91, went to be with the Lord January 3, 2016, at her home in Bartlett, TN. The Thomas Family is most grateful to Mrs. Thomas'' caregivers who cared for her with devotion and dedication throughout her very long illness. Mrs. Thomas, former Kimberly Clark employee, was born in Pocahantas, TN, raised in Walnut, MS, lived in Memphis all her adult life, and was a member of First Assembly of God Church since May 1, 1949 (67 years). Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny C. Thomas. She is survived by a brother, Floyd Janes (Yoe-Weenia), a daughter, Charlotte Salvaggio; son, Dennis Thomas (Paula); four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, January 7 and service will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 8, at Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, East.
