Jim Lawson McAfee of Oakland, Tennessee passed away January 1, 2023 at the age of 70. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Ruby McAfee; and two sisters, Betty Clark and Jane Dyer.

Jim graduated from Whitehaven High School and spent most of his career working in the gas department at MLG&W, retiring after more than 25 years of service. He was an avid fan of University of Tennessee sports and St. Louis Cardinals baseball and loved music, fishing, and gardening.

Jim is lovingly remembered by his wife, Roxanne McAfee; son, Evan McAfee and wife Jamie; stepdaughter, Jessica Zada, stepson Chad Strauser and wife Susan, sister Sherry Frahm and husband Will, brother Wallace McAfee and wife Nelda, his nieces and nephews, and nine grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM at Forest Hill Funeral Home East in Memphis on January 7, 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude.
