Jimmy Neil Brumley, 79, of Lakeland, TN, retired CPA, died Wednesday, January 24, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sara Goodwin Brumley; his son, Jimm Brumley of Jackson, MS; his daughter Jeanetta (Kevin) Raney of Memphis, TN; and four grandchildren, Reggie (Adam) Buczyna and Allison Raney of Memphis, and Iain Brumley and Isabella Brumley of Jackson, MS. He is preceded in death by his parents, Trammel and Lucille, and his brother James.

He went by many names: Mr. Jim, PawPaw, Pop, Dad. He loved his family, he loved the Lord, and he loved being busy, even into retirement. He enjoyed a wide range of music, from barbershop quartets to gospel and especially relished singing little snippets of songs to entertain whoever was handy. As a graduate of the University of Memphis (actually Memphis State College is on his diplomas), he was a huge supporter of Tiger football, basketball, and even hockey (back in the 60s). You could usually find him every day except Sunday at Costco having his favorite lunch, a Costco hot dog.

As his final contribution to society, he arranged for his body to be gifted to the University of Tennessee School of Medicine. A memorial service will be held in his honor on Saturday, February 3, at 10am at Forest Hill Funeral Home East, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis , with visitation following until noon.
