Jimmy Norris Hale, Sr., died peacefully in his home surrounded by family and loved ones on May 6, 2019, in Memphis Tennessee. Mr. Hale was born on August 26, 1935, in Pontotoc, Mississippi, to his parents, Wiley Finley and Mary Blanche Hale. He married the love of his life, Gladys Marie Hale  on September 10, 1955. He served in the United States Air Force and upon completion of his service he began a career as an Air Traffic Controller, and later drove for Roadway Express. Mr. Hale was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who made his family the central focus of his life. He was loved by all for his loyalty, kindness, and generosity. Mr. Hale is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gladys Marie Hale, three children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. A funeral is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Friday, May 10, 2019, with a public visitation at 1:00 PM, all at Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park East, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, Tennessee, 38133. Calvin Gambrell will officiate the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society.
