Jimmy Hugh Lancaster, 78, passed away at home on August 30, 2018, surrounded by his family, after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis and COPD.

Jimmy was born in Chickasaw County, Mississippi on March 27, 1940 to the late Clinton and Florence Lancaster; he was the eldest of their six sons and one daughter.

He was a loving husband of fifty years to Ruth, father to Scott and Andy, father-in-law to Frances, and grandfather to Amelia and Jake.

Some of his greatest joys in life were spending time with family and friends, fishing, and attending church.

He and Ruth were active members of Broadway Baptist Church in Southaven, MS for 31 years and then Englewood Baptist in Jackson, TN for 3 years.

Jimmy was faithful, generous, and selfless throughout his life. And even though his family will miss him, it gives us peace to know he is in the arms of his Lord and Savior where there is no more suffering.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his father, Clinton Lancaster; mother, Florence Lancaster; and brothers Arnold Lancaster and Joe Lancaster.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Lancaster; his children, Scott (Frances) Lancaster, and Andy Lancaster; his grandchildren Amelia Lancaster and Jake Lancaster; his siblings Kenny (Connie) Lancaster, Diane (Charles) Hood, John Fred (Jan) Lancaster, and Jerry Lancaster; along with many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
