James "Jimmy" Scallions, 87 of Coldwater, MS passed away March 21, 2022.

Jimmy served in the United States Army enlisting as a volunteer draft, serving active duty during the Korean War and later serving in the Army Reserves. He was a longtime member of Curve Baptist Church in Ripley, TN from the age of 13.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Scallions; five sons, Terry Scallions (Kate), Mark Scallions, Frank Scallions (Kathy), Danny Scallions (Jennifer), and Donny Scallions (Natalie); two sisters, Jessie Mae Garrett, and Mary Jane Shaw; one brother, Danny Scallions; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice House Scallions; two sons, James Scallions, and Mike Scallions; his parents, William and Wordie Scallions; his sisters, Annie Scallions, Martha Scallions, Joyce Scallions, and Doris Petrey; and his brothers, Joy Scallions, Julian Scallions, Jerry Scallions, and Joe Scallions.

Jimmy spent his younger days racing cars and later on, building racecars. In older years he decided just watching racecars would be enough. He enjoyed spending time boating and was an avid fisherman. He had a love for vegetable gardening his entire life.
