IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joann
Hutchison
June 6, 1935 – October 27, 2024
JoAnn Hutchison, loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at the age of 89 in Middleton, Tennessee. Born on June 6, 1935 in Cascilla, Mississippi, she lived a life dedicated to God, her family, her friends, and her church. Mrs. Hutchison married Jacob Hutchison on February 1, 1964 and they pastored Living Manna Church of God until his death in 2012. She attended Draughon's Business College, worked in the banking industry, and also in house cleaning and caregiving services. She was a member of Redemption City Church for the last several years. Her passion and calling was to tell everyone she met about Jesus and disciple those around her. She kept a stash of Our Daily Bread devotional pamphlets with her and would give them to anyone who would accept one. She loved reading, gardening, and preserving what she grew. Many jars of her pickles were sold at church bazaars to help fund various projects. And we must not forget all the spaghetti suppers and making peanut brittle to raise funds. If you told Mama Hutch, as she was affectionately known, that you loved her, her response would be, "I love you more." Born during the Great Depression, surviving the stagflation of the 1970s and the Great Recession, she could stretch a dollar like no one else. She knew what it meant to have plenty and to have little, still praising God through it all. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Hutchison; parents, Claude Rhew and Ollie Mae Hankins; brothers, James Hankins, Charles Hankins, and George Ray Hankins; sister, Janell Gardner. She is survived by her daughters, Penny Medlock (James) and Dian Stanley, and grandson, Preston Medlock. Mama Hutch leaves behind a profound impact on all who knew her and will be remembered for her unwavering faith, evangelism, the love she had for her family, friends, and church; and most importantly, her love for her God.
