John S. Bernhardt, Jr., 80, of Southaven, MS passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018 after a short battle with cancer.  Mr. Bernhardt was a U.S. Army Veteran, and a retired truck driver for Merit Motor Freight in Memphis. He enjoyed the Redbirds, Nascar and Memphis Tiger Basketball. He was a wonderful man, his laugh was infectious and he will be greatly missed. John was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Martha Z. Bernhardt; two sons: William D. Holland and Jackie L. Holland, one grandson, Kirk D. Holland and one brother, Bill Bernhardt. He leaves six children: Russell L. Holland, Robert D. Holland, James M. Holland, Debra A. Hood, Steve G. Holland and Janie Harding; 24 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2p.m. Tuesday, March 27 at Forest Hill South with Service immediately following. Burial will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery.
