John William Doles, Sr., age 73, died on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. From his birth in Brownsville, MS on August 4, 1944 to his death, John was always willing to help and work hard for his loved ones. He was born to Mary Pickard and Arthur Lee Babe Doles and was the youngest of three children. John was in the US Army and served during the Vietnam War. He retired as the supervisor of the plumbing department at the VA Hospital. John married Cindy Sanders on December 13, 1986. In their free time, John and Cindy enjoyed traveling, camping, and square dancing. John is survived by his wife of 31 years, Cindy Doles; four children: Lisa (Gary) Canada, Jason (Amelia) Tudor, Lori (Dustin) Walker, and Aaron Tudor; eight grandchildren: Amber Doles, Tiffany Doles, Jacob Jackson, Jordan Jackson, Cameron Walker, Taylor Walker, Peyton Walker, and Kayla Reed; six great-grandchildren; his sisters: Betty Mayes and Sadie (Milton) Harper, and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. John was preceded in death by his parents, his oldest son, John William Doles II, and his grandson, Jacob Doles. A visitation will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 1-2 pm with a funeral service to follow at 2:00. All services and interment will be held at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, East.
