John Herman Greene, 87, of Memphis, passed away Monday, April 2, 2012 at his caregiver's residence in Millington. He was a World War II Navy veteran having served on the USS Panpanito Submarine. John was a journeyman craftsman for Alco Gravure, a Mason, member of the American Legion, and had coached youth baseball. He was very proud of his first cousin Harvey Haddix, a professional baseball player. John leaves his son, Ken (Jackie) Greene, of Olive Branch; his grandson, Casey Greene; and his granddaughter, Kelly Greene. Funeral services will be 2p.m. Saturday at Forest Hill Funeral Home South with interment to follow in Forest Hill Cemetery South. Visitation will be begin at 12 p.m.
