Obituary

Southaven - John T. Hathcock, 73, a very loving father, grandfather and great- grandfather, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013 at his home. John will be truly missed by all. He retired from LoneStar Concrete where he devoted his life to the ready mix/concrete business for 50 years. He loved fishing, hunting, gun collecting, playing golf, and was a Nascar fan. His life was spent helping and doing for others. In his early years, he spent as much time as possible being a reserve deputy for the DeSoto County Sheriff''s Department and reserve officer for Horn Lake police department. Mr. Hathcock was preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Barbara Moore Walker and brother, W.C. "Dub" Hathcock. He leaves one daughter, Janet Morrow of Horn Lake and his ex-wife, Sue Hathcock of Horn Lake, seven grandchildren: Jaci Minor, Melissa Green, Daniel Moore, Trae Morrow, Allen and Brian Walker and Jake Moore, also eight great-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 26 at Forest Hill South, with visitation from 12 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery.
