John Joseph Hickman Sr., 88 years old of Southaven, MS passed away on August 8, 2024. He was born April 30, 1936 in Ponca City, OK.
John joined the United States Navy upon graduating from high school and later attended Memphis State University. He met his future wife, Rose Marie Alexander there in February of 1960. They married in June of 1964 and moved from Memphis to Southaven, MS.

John is survived by his wife of 60 years Rose Marie Alexander-Hickman; his son John Hickman Jr.; and grandchildren Hunter Alexander Hickman, Hannah Lynn Hickman, and Hailey Marie Hickman.

John is preceded in death by his parents Roy Hickman and Letha Woodall, daughter Katherine Anne Hickman; brothers Roy and Bob Hickman; sister Anne Paul. He is survived by brothers George Hickman, Richard Hickman, Charles Hickman and Sister
Letha Hoffman.

He was first a member of the Southaven Church of Christ and now a member of the Olive Branch Church of Christ.
He worked for Texaco Refinery as a dispatcher and later for MS Valley Gas and also owned his own HVAC business.

John kept bird feeders and Martin houses and enjoyed birdwatching, vegetable gardening, hunting and fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
