John Howard Holliday, 87, of Bartlett, Tennessee passed away on May 14, 2023.

He was born to John Russell Holliday and Anna Mary (Morrison) Holliday on J anuary 15 th , 1936, in Beckley, West Virginia.

John attended Institute Elementary and Woodrow Wilson High through grade 11. His senior year he attended Toccoa Bible College in Georgia . John met his wife Mitzie at Toccoa, and they were married for 6 8 years.

John spent 35 years at Buckman Laboratories. He worked long hours to support his family, including night shifts . He was trusted by both employees and management, as they sought his advice to help solve workforce issues . After retiring from Buckman, John liked to meet his retirement buddies at local restaurants to talk about the latest news.

He enjoyed activities with his family , especially watching his grandchildren play sports . John liked to travel to West Virginia every August for the Holliday family reunion. He was a big fan of the Memphis Tigers. He loved taking the whole family out for a meal to celebrate birthdays.

John had a smile for everyone he met and loved to talk about any topic. He had a relationship with God and was thankful that he would be going to heaven.

John is survived by his wife Mitzie Jean Holliday ; his children John Jr (Shawn) , Chris (Susan), and Kip (Sandy) ; seven grandchildren Patrick, Nicholas (Jessy), Jonathan, Andrew, Liz, Paige, and Carlee; two great grandchildren Violet and Chloe.

The family will receive friends from 1 :00pm to 2 :00pm on Fri day , Ma y 19th at Forest Hill Funeral Home - East, 2440 Whitten Road, Bartlett, TN 38133 with service to follow at 2:00pm. Burial will take place at Forest Hill Memorial Park - East.
