Obituary

John Crockett (J.C.) Johnson, 82, passed away on February 22 , 2022 at his home in Atoka, TN. He was born in Memphis, TN to James W. and Mildred (Crockett) Johnson. He spent four years as a member of the Air Force. He was employed by Dicta ph one for many years and then at the VA Hospital in the engineering department until his retirement in 1995 . He was a lieutenant for the Shelby County Sheriff's Dept. He married the love of his life, Lisa Covington in 1983. They shared 38 years of marriage together. J.C. lived an adventurous life engaging in many outdoor activities including sky diving, drag racing, building boats, water skiing, hunting and fishing, archery , and muzzle load ing . He was very mechanically minded and loved the challenge of fixing things. J.C. had a strong faith in the LORD from a very early age and loved talking about the LORD to others.

He is survived by his wife Lisa Johnson, his children Joshua Johnson (Lauren) of Atoka, TN and Kristi Clark (Cody) of Camp, AR and his grandchildren Jax Johnson , Luke Johnson , and Eveline Clark , a s well as his brother Joe Johnson (Nancy) , Byhalia, MS . , and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Mildred Johnson, his sisters Jacquelyn Johnson, Betty Collins , and Barbara Weaver, his brothers Herbert Johnson and J ames W. Johnson , Jr .

V isitation will be at 9:00a with t he funeral service to follow at 10:00a on Saturday, March 5 th at Forest Hill Funeral Home East followed by internment at the Forest Hill Memorial Park Midtown .

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Memphis, TN.
