John Edward Jolly, Jr.,Memphis, TN, 89 years old, went home to be with our Lord on July 27, 2016 after a brief illness. Bro. Jolly was in Music Ministry for 67 years. The churches he served in the city of Memphis were Cherokee Baptist, East Park Baptist, Briarcrest Baptist and Kirby Woods Baptist. He was instrumental along with Dr. W. Wayne Allen in the early years of the Briarcrest Baptist School System Elementary Satellite locations. Through the years he led in many revivals and crusades. His joy and love for The Lord was contagious and he was a blessing to everyone who knew him. John Jolly was also a WWII Veteran who served in the U. S. Navy. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Jolly, Sr. and his brother, Harry Jolly. He leaves his wife of 65 years, Shirlee Jolly, his son Mike (Anita) from Jasper, GA, daughter Michelle of Cordova, TN and son Jeff (Carolyn) Jolly from Arlington, TN, his brother, Fred Jolly (Lavera) of Proctor, AR, along with 3 grandsons, and 5 great -grand children. The family would like to thank the members of Kirby Woods Baptist for their love and support. A visitation will be held on Monday, August 1, 2016 from 12 - 2 PM with services to immediately follow at 2:00 PM, all at Kirby Woods Baptist Church, 6325 Poplar Ave. with interment to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery East, 2440 Whitten Road.
