John Walter Miles, 75, of Myrtle, MS died Tuesday, March 18, 2014. He was retired from the Memphis Fire Department and a member of Temple Baptist Church in Myrtle, MS where he was a deacon for many years. Visitation will be 12-2 p.m., Thursday, March 20, with services to follow at 2 p.m. at Forest Hill South Funeral Home. Interment will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery. Mr. Miles is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth McCrary Miles; three sons, Robby Miles (Anita) of Arlington, TN, Ricky Miles (Carrie) of Myrtle, MS and Ronny Miles of Philadelphia, PA; five grandchildren, Travis, Bob, Jerith and Richard Miles and Tara Berg (Dustin) and one great-grandchild, Orin. He is also survived by his sister, Jeffie Dacus of Lakeland, TN.
