John Adams Sparks, 76, entered Heaven Wednesday, August 16, 2017. John was born in
Pacific Grove, California. He moved to Memphis, Tennessee as a teenager where he met the
love of his life, Sharon Pritchett. He had a successful career with PPG Industries of over 40
years. He was a loving husband to Sharon, his devoted wife of 57 years; a model father,
grandfather, great-grandfather, and a trusted friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Avis and Luther Sparks. He is survived by his wife,
Sharon Sparks, and two sons Dennis (Adina) and Jeff (Lisa). He was blessed with four
grandchildren, Laura Callan (Patrick), Casey Box (Dustin), Chelsea, and John Sparks, and one
great grandchild, Liam Box. His siblings Cliff Sparks (Sharon), Lewis Sparks, and Addalee
Michael (Dewey).
John''s testimony was an influence to many, and his love for everyone was reciprocated. He
was a very caring man who served God with his whole heart.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 until 2:00 pm followed by a celebration of his life on Saturday,
August 19, 2017 at Forest Hill - East Funeral Home, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, Tennessee.
He would want his spirit and love for the Lord to be carried on by his family and friends.
