John Edmond "Zack" Curlin, 76, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, DeSoto after battling Parkinson''s and Alzheimer''s for many years. He retired from Illinois Central Railroad after 40 years, as did his father and grandfather before him. He was in the US Army Reserve and was on active duty from October 1961 to August 1962. Mr. Curlin was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, including James H. Curlin of Germantown. Zack leaves his devoted wife of 52 years, Linda B. Curlin; two daughters, "My Girls": Lisa Curlin of Bartlett and Jennifer Curlin of Southaven; one son "My only begotten son", John H. Curlin (Holly French); two step-granddaughters, Kelsey Schiebout and Courtney Schiebout all of Highland Ranch, CO, a sister, Jane Wilds of Cleveland, Ohio and a special cousin, Cindy Curlin-Barrett of Olive Branch, MS. The family would like to extend a special thanks to his caregivers: Lynn, Krystal and the staff of Aseracare Hospice in Senatobia. Services officiated by Rev. Neal Wilds. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 23 at Forest Hill South with service Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Burial will follow in Autumn Woods Cemetery of Olive Branch. The family requests that memorials are sent to Alzheimers Research or Parkinson''s Research.
