Mrs. Johnnie Watts Hastings, 83, of Memphis was called home on Sunday, October 7, 2012, at the Landmark Nursing Home in Horn Lake, MS. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Hill Funeral Home South with interment to follow in Forest Hill Cemetery South. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening. She was born on October 16, 1928, in Oden, AR, to John Henry and Ollie Rae Beam. Johnnie was a homemaker and her greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed going to carport sales, flea markets, auctions, playing cards, gardening, cooking, and sewing doll clothes for her granddaughters. Johnnie leaves two daughters, Rebecca Watts (Jeff) Doss of Hernando, MS, and Susan Watts (Donnie) Houston of Memphis, TN; one son, Norris Leon (Angel) Watts, Jr., of Bohol, Philippines; six grandchildren, Heather (Wayne) Hardin, Laura Denton, Autumn Houston, Norris Leon Watts III, John Henry Watts, and Justin (Ameenah) Doss; five great-grandchildren, Brooke, Emily and Dawson Hardin; Jaylon and Jericho Doss; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the American Diabetes Association.
