JOHNNIE J. WILLIAMS, 71, of Memphis, former owner of the W & R Drum Company and American Pallet Company, died of medical complications on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Methodist South Hospital, after fighting a short illness with courage, grace and dignity. He was born April 7, 1942 in Schlater, MS to the late Johnny Wade Williams and Willie Mae Williams. Johnnie leaves to cherish his memories to a loving and caring wife of 51 years, Lilliantyne Williams; five children, Cynthia D. McCollins (Clarence) of Memphis, Michael Williams of Memphis, Angela D. Williams of Memphis, Ronald R. Williams of Atlanta, GA, and Shirley K. Bryant of Jonestown, MS; nine grandchildren, Ravyn A. McCollins, Courtney A. Smith, Micheal D. Williams, Jaylen E. McCollins, Mya E. Williams, Brittany S. Bryant, Billy K. Bryan, Jr., Mekell D. Kennedy, Germichael K. Kennedy and one great-grandson, Micheal D. Williams, Jr.; three brothers, A.C. Williams, Dave Williams, and Morris C. Williams; three sisters, Errie Williams Smith, Savanna Davis, Morrie J. Williams and a special nephew, George Roebuck Williams. Funeral service is Noon on Saturday, February 8, at New Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 855 Porter Street, with visitation from 10 a.m. to 11:55 a.m. Interment in Forest Hill Midtown Cemetery.
