Johnny Elbert Barnes, 89, of Memphis passed away on Monday, February 2, 2015 at Methodist South Hospital. Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 7 at Forest Hill South with visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery. Mr. Barnes served in the US Army during WWII, retired from Yellow Freight and was a member of Teamsters Local 667. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Barnes and son Johnny Barnes, Jr. He leaves one son, Perry Barnes (Anita) of Olive Branch, two daughters: Donna Melton of Memphis and Beverly Mullikin (Wilson) of Byhalia; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
