Joseph Irvin Bixler, 76, of Olive Branch, MS died Monday, December 8, 2014. He graduated from Lebanon High School in Lebanon, PA, served with the U.S. Navy, flying with the Hurricane Hunter Squadron out of Jacksonville, FL, and was one of the first officers to fly in the Helicopter Unit with the Memphis Police Department. Mr. Bixler was a member of Unity Lodge #95 F&AM , past Patron of Mizpah Chapter #62 order of the Eastern Star. He is survived by his wife, Johnnie Mae Bixler; daughters, Debbie Clark (Allan), Susan McCullough (Phillip; son, Mark Bixler (Stacey); brother, Ralph Bixler of Camden, Delaware and mother-in-law, Lou O''Daniel. Mr. Bixler is also survived by his grandchildren, Diane Shellhart (Chris), Jessica Blalock (Michael), Terra McCullough, Lynda Clark, Samantha Bixler, Toni McCullough, Donnie Tullos (Blaze), Jordan Clark, (Amber), Lake McCullough, Graham Bixler and Chance Shellhart and great-grandchildren, McKenzie Clark, Mirah White and Ella Clark. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home. Services will be 2 p.m., Friday at the funeral home with interment to follow.
