Joseph Wilson Lyle, Sr. was born on March 2, 1932 and passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017.
Joe was the youngest of five siblings. After graduating from Memphis Technical High School in 1950, he served in the Navy Reserve. Joe enjoyed attending class reunions and keeping in touch with "Tech High" classmates.
He married Bobby Joan Bledsoe in 1950, and they had four children. Joe retired from Tri-State Mack Trucks, Inc after 50+ years. From the time Joe was a young man, up until he was physically unable, he was an avid outdoorsman-enjoying fishing, hunting of any kind and golfing. Though his body grew weaker, the memories and stories lasted until the end. He had a host of "hunting buddies" that he loved dearly and thought of as brothers.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Alice Wray Wilson and Harry Thomas Lyle; his siblings, Robert Lyle, Tommy Lyle, Martha Boone and Sarah Lyle; his son, Jack Robert Lyle and his daughter, Kim Lyle Scott.
Joe leaves behind his wife of 67 years, Bobby Bledsoe Lyle; three children, Joseph Wilson Lyle, Jr. (Anne), Jennifer Lyle Metcalf (Thomas) and Gregory Bennett Lyle (Tracy); 12 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.
