Southaven - JOSEPH CHALLIE WALDROP, 93, died July 27, 2013 at Baptist DeSoto Hospital. Mr. Waldrop was retired from the U.S. Coast Guard after 31 years, and was member of Longstreet Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Waldrop. He leaves two daughters, Carol Holcomb (James) of Southaven, Linda Carson (David) of Memphis; brother, Bryant Waldrop of Mandeville, LA; grandchildren, Chris Holcomb of McDonough, GA, Melissa Huddleston of Hernando, MS, Mandy Walters of Southaven, MS; 4 great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Judy Thurmon, step-son, Jimmy Cason; and many nieces and nephews.
